ratification of the WGO Statutes &
By-laws, the presentation of the 2017-
2019 Nominations for WGO Committees
and Interest Groups, and the
announcement of the 2017 Masters of
the WGO (MWGO) award recipients
(See page 13 for an overview of the
Master of the WGO (MWGO) award).
During the ACG Business Meeting,
the handover of the ACG Presidency
from Dr. Carol Burke, MD, FACG to
Dr. Irving M. Pike, MD, FACG, the
new 2017-2018 ACG President, took
place, and College business was discussed
and voted on by ACG Members
and Fellows (FACG).
The WCOG at ACG 2017 meeting
also recognized various individuals
with a distinguished background in
the gastroenterology and/or allied
fields. We would like to honor the
following recipients that received prestigious
