Palestinian Society of Gastroenterology
(PSG)
The Palestinian Society of Gastroenterology
(PSG) is a charitable
organization focused upon gastroenterological
diseases with respect to
health, scientific, educational, and
social aspects. The PSG’s activities
cover all of Palestine. The Society was
founded in the city of Nablus on 1st
November, 2003.
PSG’s purpose is to coordinate,
cooperate, and improve academic and
collegial relationships among all parties
concerned with gastroenterological
issues. It seeks to increase interest
in the field of gastroenterology from
other medical professionals, private
and public medical organizations, and
medical centers and to support and
assist physicians, medical professionals,
and all those who are interested
in gastroenterological diseases in the
development of cooperation among
them to improve treatment and preventive
measures from gastroenterological
diseases.

The Society’s President is Dr. Wail
Hammoudeh and the Secretary General
is Dr. Walid Sweidan.
Rwandan Society for Endoscopy
(RSE)
In February 2016, a group of Rwandan
medical doctors and residents
founded the Rwanda Society for
endoscopy (RSE). RSE is a nongovernmental
organization and its
head office is located in Nyarugenge
District, Kigali City. The organization
carries out its activities throughout
all 30 districts of Rwanda and works
with all 47 hospitals in Rwanda. RSE
is led by its President, Dr. Vincent
Dusabejambo.
The RSE works to improve the
means and conditions of taking care
of patients with conditions requiring
endoscopy. It does so by emphasizing
the continuing training of doctors all
around the country.
Zambia Association for Gastroenterology
& Nutrition (ZAGAN)
ZAGAN was formed in Lusaka,
Zambia with the aim to promote the
highest standards of clinical care in
the field of gastroenterology and nutrition
in the nation, through training
and advocacy. The association has a
membership which includes medical
doctors, nurses and biomedical
scientists. These members cooperate
with different groups worldwide and
hold educational meetings to further
their aims.
Its current President is Violet
Kayamba of the University of Zambia
Medical School.
