Guidelines Re-Use Policy

The copyright of the WGO Global Guidelines is retained by the World Gastroenterology Organisation (WGO). Users may download or print copies for their own use and may photocopy guidelines for the purpose of producing local protocols. However, republishing any guideline or part of any guideline, in any form, without specific authorization from WGO is specifically prohibited.

Permission to reproduce or republish WGO Guidelines or excerpts from Guidelines can be obtained from the WGO Executive Secretariat. Each request is handled on a case-by-case basis. Please provide specific request details to the WGO Executive Secretariat at info@worldgastroenterology.org.

Should your request for a reprint be granted, the following conditions must be fulfilled and agreed to in order to give the correct credit to the authors and work of the organization:

  1. The guidelines must be correctly cited, i.e. “Produced by the World Gastroenterology Organisation (WGO) Guidelines and Publications Committee.”
  2. A link to the WGO website (www.worldgastroenterology.org) indicating that this is the source of the original versions must be provided.
  3. The full guidelines with acknowledgements to the Review Team members and associated references must be reproduced – no extracts or abbreviated versions are permitted.
  4. No direct link can be made from the guideline to any specific product mentioned in it.
  5. Final approval cannot be granted until WGO has approved a print proof.
  6. We request that you provide WGO with 10 copies of the final publication for our archives.
  7. Should you be allowed to re-print/distribute this guideline, this agreement cannot be transferred to a third party.
  8. You must include that this article was originally published in the Journal of Clinical Gastroenterology and a full citation should be included, including the original DOI.

WGO does not endorse in any way derivative or excerpted materials based on the Global Guidelines and it cannot be held liable for the content or use of any such adapted products.
