Committees & Interest Groups

The World Gastroenterology Organisation (WGO) currently has, in addition to the Governing Council, 13 groups that, under the authority of the Governing Council, coordinate WGO initiatives and projects, and generally undertake the work of the organization. There are currently ten committees, an editorial board, and two interest groups.

The current WGO committees and interest groups include:

• e-WGN Editorial Board
• Finance Committee
• Foundation Committee
• Guidelines Committee
• Hepatology Interest Group
• Nominations Committee
• Publications Committee
• Scientific Programs Committee
• Training Centers Committee
• Train the Trainers Committee
• Young Members Committee

WGO committees and interest groups meet regularly according to a timetable determined by the Chair of each group and as approved by the Governing Council.

Term of service on WGO Committees and Interest Groups is a maximum of two (2), two (2) year terms unless otherwise prescribed by the WGO Statutes and By-laws or organizational policies and procedures. The 2019-2021 WGO officers, committees and interest groups were confirmed during the WGO General Assembly at the WCOG in Istanbul.
