The World Gastroenterology Organisation (WGO) is a global federation of over 100 Member Societies representing over 50,000 individual gastroenterologists, hepatologists, endoscopists, GI surgeons, and other health care professionals . WGO programs and activities are dedicated to serving the needs of its members and promoting digestive health worldwide, especially in developing and emerging societies.
WGO is a federation of 117 Member Societies and 4 regional affiliated associations. Individuals, estimated at over 50,000 worldwide, are represented by their country’s WGO Member Society. Member Societies may or may not be part of a regional structure. Individual members interested in belonging to WGO must apply through their Member Societies. WGO programs and activities are designed to complement those presented by the Member Societies and regional GI bodies.
Being a part of WGO makes Member Societies and their members active participants in the global gastroenterology community. This includes access to WGO Training Centers, Train the Trainers workshops, World Digestive Health Day, and much more!
